An Amazing Place
The Grand Canyon is an amazing place and I am grateful to have had the chance to spend time floating through it.
The Western River guides did an outstanding job being boatmen, naturalists, historians, hiking guides, cooks and camp organizers. My one suggestion might be to offer a much simpler dinner the first night out. Everyone, guests and boatmen alike, had had a very long day already and a quicker meal would have been welcome and then we would have had the opportunity to get to bed earlier. I really enjoyed all the meals but didn't need a cooked meal that first night.
All in all, everything went very well. The guys ran everything very smoothly and even after so much work on their part were able to be personable and friendly. Many kudos to them. Of course, it would have been great to have a female guide too, but can't have everything.
