Mile 87.5 - Bright Angel Creek

Bright Angel Creek, originally referred to as silver creek, was likely named by Major Powell after his expedition in 1869. The creek, brilliantly clear unless muddied by localized rain, stood in sharp contrast to the “Dirty Devil River” that joins the Colorado above Glen Canyon.
