Summer Vacation Ideas
This rafting trip in the Cataract Canyon was one of the best vacations we've had!
I haven't quite figured out how to articulate how wonderful this trip was. First I think having the 4 days and 3 nights is a must. Anything shorter wouldn't develop the camaraderie, the calm, the peacefulness that this length ensures. When you strip away your responsibilities, just hang out in the water and canyons, float and paddle down the river, chat when you want and quiet when you want.....it just changes you. No devices, no work, no drama except the beauty around us. I want to go back for a week next time.
The food was excellent - thanks guys for cooking and cleaning up for us. That was a treat too. I think Western River Expeditions has figured out that the group can work together to get stuff off and on the boats and we can set up our own cots/tents/chairs but having meals provided so easily is part of the vacation for many of us. I appreciated that very much. I even kinda miss the "loo with a view" - that last one was a spectacular view!
